RE – CSM 23 – THE 2018 NLCB PLAYWHE CHUTNEY SOCA MONARCH
HEADING – 10 ARTISTES TO COMPETE AGAINST DEFENDING CHAMPIONS
10 Chutney Soca artistes will join the defending champions to compete for the 2018 Play Whe Chutney Soca Monarch title on Saturday 27th January at Skinner Park in San Fernando.
The Semi Final round held at Liv Nightlife saw 34 artistes take to the stage to make the final cut. There were many new faces at this year’s competition and there was a lot of energy and hype inside the club. The venue was packed to capacity as from very early on there were long lines to get inside.
Nishard Mayrhoo ands Neval Chatelal singing ‘Masala’ together topped the night with a surprise close second from newcomer Vijai Ramkissoon with ‘Suno More’.
Both Kenneth Supersad and Nermal Massive Gosein were also big crowd pleasers with their songs ‘Raj’ and ‘Rowlee Mudda’ respectively.
12 artistes will now perform for the big prize at Skinner park in San Fernando on Saturday 27th January, as both Ravi B and Omadath Maharaj are expected to defend their crown.
The 10 names that will now join Ravib and Omadath Maharaj are as follows and are in no particular order –
